Here's how we can help. Click on a service for more information.
Garden Design
After a free initial consultation, we will carry out a site analysis and create a design brief in consultation with you. This will involve discussions about your likes and dislikes, elements to be included, soil type, orientation and climate of the garden together with a 'wish list' of favourite plants.
We will take photographs and measurements of the garden (in the case of larger projects a full landscape survey may be needed) and based on these we will prepare a design brief and site analysis.
We will then present to you a layout plan and a moodboard showing colour scheme, examples of hard landscaping materials and plants.
Creating a design for your garden can cost as little as £500 and within this cost we include two reworkings of the design so we can get it exactly right. Finally, once the layout plan is agreed, we will create detailed planting plans showing placement, number and variety of all the specified plants.
Project management and design consultation
Once the layout design is created, you may decide to build the garden yourself! Or you may wish to employ a contractor you already have a relationship with. In either of these cases we are happy to provide a project management service to ensure the project is kept on track and to offer on-going design consultation. For this service we usually charge a percentage of the total project cost.
Landscaping
We can oversee the complete build of your new garden for you. The design disappears from the plan and magically re-appears where your old garden used to be! Well, it's not quite as easy as that but we can certainly make the whole process a lot less stressful for you. Oleander undertakes all aspects of the soft landscaping and with our excellent contacts we can recommend and oversee the right company for the hard landscaping part of the job.
'Border Control' restoration service
If you're looking for a cost effective alternative to a complete re-design, we offer a complete border restoration service.
We can carefully lift the plants that are worth keeping from any bed or border, improve the soil with some magic conditioner, then replant them in a new scheme alongside some sympathetic new planting. We will provide the very best planting advice, taking into consideration your soil type, aspect and prevailing weather conditions.
You will be surprised how with the careful pruning or removal of some existing plants, some solid design principles and some new bits of planting, a garden can be rejuvenated for comparatively little expense.
Planting plans
Even the most experienced gardener can sometimes need a little inspiration. If you want to build or rejuvenate your own garden but the muse steadfastly refuses to descend when it comes to ideas for the planting, we can produce bespoke planting plans for you to implement yourself, as time and cost allow. We do not use 'off the shelf' template plans but individually design plans that take into account the specific conditions of your garden and project how the plants suggested will fill out and work together over time to ensure that your garden will look good from the start and then just get better.
Plant sourcing and sales
For us, plants are the most important element of any garden and any that Oleander supplies have to be of the highest quality. We can source all the plants we use in our designs and our pricing is extremely competitive - in many cases lower than you would pay in a UK garden centre. We can also suggest and source different varieties that are harder to find to make your garden just that little bit different from the one next door.
We are also happy to source plants on a sales-only basis - so if you've always dreamed of having that rare species, give us a call and we might just be able to find it for you.
'Instant expert'
For those with a love of beautiful gardens (or even if you're just curious) but not the time to find out about the bits out the back that aren't grass. We can offer a dedicated garden tutorial, from the basic steps you ned to take to care for and maintain your garden to more advanced ideas on planting and design, taking into account your particular site requirements.
